The National Weather Service has issued an Areak Flood Advisory until 11:45 this evening including the JSC area. At 2:50 PM heavy rainfall had moved out of the JSC vicinity. Moderate to heavy rains were located over Galveston Bay and should reach JSC from time to time this evening. Heaviest rainfall seems to be moving off to the northeast as Harvey continues to the TX/LA state line. Although rainfall the rest of today and tonight will be occasional and much, much less than the past few days it may worsen any ongoing flooding in the vicinity.
As of 2:45 PM 2.66″ of rain has fallen since midnight at JSC. 3.90″ has fallen at NASA Ellington Field. Friday to 2:45 PM today total accumulations for Harvey are 42.64″ at JSC B30 and 39.03″ at NASA Ellington Field.
Travel is still not recommended in the areas as it may quickly become dangerous with flooded roadways.
