The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning that includes the JSC area until 5:45. Showers and few thunderstorms were producing rain rates of around 1 to 1.25 inches per hour at JSC. JSC is located near the southern edge of the heavy rain which is moving very little. An additional 2 to 3 inches of rain is possible through 5 PM. As of 1:58 PM 3.85″ of rain has occurred at JSC since midnight. 3.80″ has fallen at NASA Ellington Field. These rains will pond up quickly at JSC with potential to produce flooding.
