The National Weather Service has continued the Flash Flood Watch that includes JSC and vicinity until 8AM CDT Wednesday. At 3:35 PM CDT showers and thunderstorms had developed primarily from Beaumont to High Island or about 20 miles east of JSC. A few other showers and storms were northwest of JSC. The circulation producing these storms was located over Liberty County north northeast of JSC. The heaviest rainfall overnight looks to remain a few miles north and northeast of JSC near the circulation. Other showers and storms should rotate around this low bringing the JSC a few showers or storms occasionally overnight with accumulations of between 0.5 and 1.0 inch. While forecast rainfall amounts at JSC look to be below serious flooding levels it is prudent to continue to monitor the situation as JSC remains just inside the edge of the Flash Flood Watch area.
