At 4:00 PM CDT Tropical Storm Cindy was located at 28.2 N 93.2 W or 150 miles SE of JSC, moving NW at 9MPH with a turn more to the NNW expected shortly. Maximum sustained winds were 50 MPH.  A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for JSC, Ellington Field and Sonny Carter Training Facility tonight.

TS Cindy is forecast to make landfall near the TX/LA state line between 3AM and 6AM Thursday.

There is no real change in forecast track, intensity and impacts from the previous message.  Primary threat remains heavy rains which should be mainly east of JSC on the other side of Galveston Bay.  JSC could see between 1 to 2 inches of rain through Friday AM. Some brief nuisance to minor flooding is possible. Overnight winds should rise to 25 to 30 mph with some gusts up to 40 mph.  Gusts of between 35 and 40 mph have been observed near Galveston Island after 3PM today.   Storm surge should not be an issue this evening.  Near sunrise waters in Galveston Bay and Clear Lake may be lower than normal with offshore winds.
