At 10 AM CDT, TS Harvey was located at 28.5 N 96.0 W or 92 miles SW of JSC, moving SE at 5 MPH. This is just offshore of Matagorda. Maximum sustained winds were 40 MPH.

Harvey is forecast to continue moving slowly southeast through tonight. On Tuesday Harvey will turn northeast and make a second landfall around 9AM between Galveston and the TX/LA state line. Some minor intensification in wind speed is forecast. JSC may see 20 to 30 mph winds on Tuesday and early Wednesday with gusts to 40 mph. Occasional periods of moderate to heavy rain are still likely through Wednesday afternoon. The bulls eye for heaviest rainfall may be shifting a bit inland from JSC today. 3 to 5 inches of additional rain is possible today and 5 to 7 tomorrow.
