At 10AM CDT, Hurricane was located at 21.4 N 88.0 W or 910 miles SE of JSC, moving NW at 17 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 105 MPH.

Hurricane Delta will emerge into the Gulf of Mexico this afternoon.  Strengthening to a category 3 storm is forecast by Thursday morning.  Delta will continue to the northwest today and early tomorrow.  By Thursday afternoon or early evening a turn to the north and then to the north northeast is expected to begin as an upper trough begins to scoop up the storm.  A landfall on the central or southwest Louisiana coast is forecast Friday afternoon.  On the current NHC track the eye of Delta would pass 132 miles east southeast of JSC on Friday.  ON the current track potential impacts to JSC look to be minor:  an inch or less of rainfall, perhaps gusts to tropical storm strength at times Friday.  Water levels in Clear Lake and Galveston Bay may rise 1 to 2 feet above normal tides especially Friday morning.
