The NWS has issued a Winter Storm Warning starting 6PM Tuesday night through 6AM Thursday. JSC is on the southern edge of the warning area. Roads north of JSC will become even more hazardous late tonight and tomorrow.
Temperatures are slowly climbing this Tuesday afternoon and will continue to do so tonight and tomorrow. JSC should be near or above freezing for most of tonight after 5PM. As temperatures continue to slowly warm the freezing rain boundary will begin near or just north of JSC and gradually edge northward overnight and tomorrow.
Rain and possibly a very brief period of light freezing rain is possible after midnight but is forecast to turn to all rain overnight and tomorrow.
The morning low temperature at JSC Tuesday was 14, setting a new all-time low temperature for JSC since record keeping began in 2000. The previous all-time record of 16 was set Monday. Before that the record was 20 which had occurred on two occasions. Max temps of low to mid 40s are expected Wed-Fri with a low near 33 Thursday morning and 28 on Friday. Saturday: 37 rising to near 60 in the afternoon.
