The National Hurricane Center has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the JSC area.
At 10AM CDT, Tropical Storm Nicholas was located at 26.4 N 96.8 W or 240 miles south-southwest of JSC. TS Nicholas was moving erratically northward at 12 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 60 MPH.
TS Nicholas is forecast to make landfall on the middle Texas coast between Port Aransas and Freeport around 5-7AM CDT Tuesday Morning as a strong Tropical Storm. Primary threat to JSC is the heavy rain fall and possible flash flooding Tuesday morning. A Flash Flood Warning and Storm Surge Warning are also in effect for the JSC vicinity.
The next advisory will be issued around 4PM CDT Monday with another update later in the afternoon.
