From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:

At 4AM CDT, Hurricane Beryl’s center was located at 28.6 N 96.0 W near Matagorda making landfall. This is 80 miles SW of JSC, moving north at 12 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 80 MPH. Steady to rapid weakening is expected as the center continues inland.

For JSC the heavy rains are just now arriving and can be expected to last until late this morning. Four to six inches of rain is possible. Street and low lying areas can be expected to become flooded in spots in the vicinity and onsite. Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible over the next couple hours. As this band of heavy rain rotates through there is an elevated threat for a brief, weak tornado in the vicinity as well particularly near Galveston Bay.
