Employees:

Center Management continues to monitor the extreme winter weather. Due to hazardous conditions, Johnson Space Center will remain closed Wednesday, January 22, 2025 to all but mission essential personnel. The Center will reopen on Thursday morning with normal operating hours.

Employees, please coordinate with your supervisor about your telework/work schedule. WebTADS guidance will be sent as needed following the freezing weather to account for unusual circumstances. Contractor team members should check with your contract management for your company’s policy.

Supervisors:

You are encouraged to authorize telework to the maximum extent possible during this freezing period. Supervisors are granted authority to approve XLV61 Weather and Safety Leave when an employee is unable to travel to work safely due to weather conditions and also unable to telework due to power outage and/or home safety issues (damage or unsafe conditions). HR and Payroll will send separate payroll guidance if needed after the weather’s impact is well known.

Your safety is a priority. Continue to monitor road conditions and local news before traveling. Stay tuned to http://jscsos.com and the NASA Safe app for real-time information and site conditions.

We also encourage you to download the NASA Safe mobile app to stay informed of center status information and get critical emergency updates. To receive push notifications from the app, you must download the app in your app store, subscribe to JSC notifications, and ensure your device is set to allow notifications from the NASA Safe app.

To subscribe to JSC Notifications: Open the NASA Safe app > Click on the Notification Settings button at the bottom of the screen> Select Johnson Space Center (JSC) > Scroll to the bottom of the page and Click on the Save Selections button.
