***EXERCISE! EXERCISE!***
At 10AM CDT, Wednesday, Category 3 Hurricane Fabrication was located at 23.5 N 91.8 W or 460 miles SSE of JSC, moving NW at 16 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 120 MPH. Fabrication is forecast to continue strengthening today into a category 4 storm as it moves over a warm water eddy in the west central Gulf of Mexico. Some weakening if forecast just prior to landfall as dry air gets entrained into the storm from the west. Fabrication is forecast to be an upper end category 2 storm as it makes landfall in Matagorda county mid-morning tomorrow. Forecast track has above average confidence as aircraft and other data continue to show Fabrication moving around the periphery of a strong surface high pressure area near Florida. JSC will be on the right hand side of the storm during landfall tomorrow morning.
Monitor the latest advisories on Hurricane Fabrication.
The next advisory for this exercise will be issued Thursday morning. Simulated Hurricane shutdown and ride out activities should be in motion or complete at this point.
