From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:

At 10AM CDT, exercise Tropical Depression X had formed in the western Gulf of Mexico.  The initial center was located at 30.3 N 95.3 W or 315 miles south of JSC, moving northeast at 8 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 30 MPH.  TD X is forecast to strengthen over the next 24 hours and become tropical storm Ersatz. A general slow motion to the northeast is forecast to continue the next 36 to 48 hours before turning to the northwest.
