** Hurricane Training Exercise Message **

From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:

At 10AM CDT, Tropical Storm Ersatz was located at 26.6N 93.9W or 215 miles south southeast of JSC, moving northeast at 6 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 45 MPH.

TS Ersatz if forecast to continue on a northeast track today and tonight before turning northwest on Wednesday morning.  As TS Ersatz moves over warmer waters in the northwestern Gulf intensification to category 1 hurricane is expected.  Landfall somewhere on the upper Texas coast to southwest Louisiana is expected mid-day to late afternoon Thursday.  JSC is in the forecast cone for Ersatz.
