A Flash Flood Watch that includes JSC and vicinity remains in effect until 1PM Thursday.

Light rain is expected on and off for much of today.  Some heavier rainfall with a few thunderstorms are possible beginning late this afternoon into the mid evening hours. The next round of heavier rain is forecast to be less intense than that from last night.

As of 10:25AM 1.57 inches of rain has fallen at JSC since midnight.  NASA Ellington Field recorded 1.32 inches in the same period  Total accumulation Sunday through today has been 4.29 inches at JSC Building 30 and 3.51″ at NASA Ellington Field.  Grounds are becoming saturated and any storms with rainfall rates exceeding 1.5 inches/hour should cause street flooding and minor flash flooding onsite. Rain chances remain at or above 60% each day until Sunday. Another 2 to 3 inches of accumulation through Saturday morning is likely.  AN update will be sent later this afternoon.
