The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory beginning at noon lasting until 9PM today that includes JSC. JSC Building 30 reached 97° on Sunday which was the hottest day of the year so far. NASA Ellington Field reached 99°. High temperatures today should be very near those readings once again. The heat index will begin creeping above 100 shortly after noon today and peak in the 103 – 108 range from 3PM until 7:30 at JSC. At Sonny Carter Training Facility and NASA Ellington Field the heat index should peak between 105 and 110 this afternoon. Reschedule outdoor work if possible to the early morning or late evening. Drink plenty of water.
