From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:

At 9PM CDT, Hurricane Laura was located at 28.8 N 93.1 W or 130 miles east southeast of JSC. Laura was moving north northwest at 15 MPH.  Maximum sustained winds were 150 MPH – a strong category 4 hurricane.

Hurricane Laura is forecast to make landfall near the Texas / Louisiana state line or barely east of there between midnight and 2AM.  Potential impacts to JSC are diminishing tonight.  The peak gust at JSC Building 30 so far has been 40 mph.  Tropical storm force winds are largely occurring very close to Gulf coast this evening.  JSC will likely see a few hours of 25 to 30 mph winds tonight with a few gusts of 35 to 40 mph. Chance for heavy rainfall is diminishing as well, only a few passing breezy showers or thunderstorms are expected overnight.
