Onsite Work – It is explicitly limited to official pre-approved excepted business during the lapse of funding.  No personal (ERVB) or wristband tours are permitted until the Center is out of the shutdown furlough.

Gates and Security Support – Gate Access, Badging, emergency response, etc., will remain unchanged.  Additionally, Critical Civil Servant Security support will also be in place.

Starport and Food Services will be available including:

  • Fitness Center
  • Reservations
  • League Play
  • Creative Learning classes and karate
  • B11, Gilruth giftshop, and ShopNASA.com; normal hours
  • B3 Giftshop will be closed
  • Food services
    • B3 & B11 will reduce to two vendors at lunch; no change in serving times.
    • 1 food truck @ B11
    • Breakfast available all week in B3. B11 breakfast food truck every day except Fridays
    • Royal Tea & Coffee will be open regular hours on Wednesday and will adjust future days as needed (may close at 1:30pm if there’s low demand)

Financial Support and Loans Options: Check with your banking institution to see if they will offer financial relief to members affected by a government shutdown. These financial entities, mortgage companies and creditors may work out a payment plan if you request it. Wellby has emailed its members with information on a 0% loan; if you’re a member, check the email they have on file for you. 

You may also want to check with the TSP if you have an existing loan or need information on applying for a loan at Lapse in Appropriations (government shutdown) | The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).

Employee Assistance Program –  (JSC EAP site)
In the event of any type of furlough, the JSC/WSTF Employee Assistance Program will still be operating on-site at the same hours (8am – 5pm CT, Mon – Fri except for Quiet Fridays). Any scheduled appointments will not be affected. If an employee is already a client and is let go, they are still welcome to meet with us for a wrap-up session to provide support and resources.
