From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:
At 1:00 PM CDT, Tuesday, June 2, winds with Tropical Depression 3 had strengthened to 40 mph and is now upgraded to Tropical Storm Cristobal (pronounced Kris-TOH-bahl). Cristobal was located at 19.2 N 92.8 W or 730 miles SSE of JSC, moving SW at 3 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 40 MPH.
Cristobal will continue to meander around the far southern Bay of Campeche through Thursday. Beyond Thursday night the forecast track and intensity is highly uncertain. Should Cristobal survive it’s approach to the Mexican coast a turn to the north on Friday and into the weekend is possible.
