At 4:00 PM CDT, Tropical Depression 8 was located at 26.1 N 90.7W or 355 miles SE of JSC, moving WNW at 8 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 35 MPH.

TD 8 is forecast to continue moving to the west northwest toward the Texas coast with the center making landfall south of JSC, possibly near Corpus Christi around midday on Saturday.  JSC is NOT in the track error cone but impacts can be felt beyond the error cone.  TD 8 is likely to increase in strength tonight becoming Tropical Storm Hanna.  Peak winds at landfall are forecast to be 55 to 60 mph.  Primary impacts for JSC appear to be the risk for heavy rainfall with 2.5 to 4.5 inches likely to accumulate between Friday and Tuesday with most of that on Saturday.

The next JENS advisory will be issued Friday morning.
