The Spaceflight Meteorology Group and Office of Emergency Management are watching potential development in the tropics. The National Hurricane Center has bumped the chances for some tropical development in the Bay of Campeche and western Gulf up to 70%. This storm is not expected to develop into an intense one, but it does bring the potential for heavy rainfall to our area. The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston is monitoring the potential for some periods of heavy rainfall, particularly closer to the coast and offshore, into the middle of next week. Stay informed, and stay safe!
