The Spaceflight Meteorology Group and the Office of Emergency Management are monitoring the development of tropical weather in the Gulf. As of 3 pm today, Wednesday, July 22nd, the NWS has increased the chance of tropical development in the next 48 hours to 70%, so it is looking likely that the JSC area has the potential for a wet weekend.
We are also watching newly developed Tropical Storm Gonzalo. At this time, TS Gonzalo is expected to dissipate before it could become a threat to JSC.
