From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that includes JSC now through noon Friday.

At 3:15 PM a large area of mixed rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow was 65 miles northwest of JSC was moving east. Drier air is working its way into the precipitation area reducing coverage. This weakening trend is forecast to continue this afternoon. what remains of this area moves through JSC between 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM this evening. Temperatures at JSC should be barely above or right at 32 degrees during this time so there is a brief window for some very light freezing rain or sleet. Very little to no accumulation of ice would be expected at JSC so impacts should be minor. Off to the west and northwest of JSC in Harris county conditions are more favorable for a light glazing of ice so impacts would be greater to traffic.

Freezing temperatures are forecast tonight from around 10PM to 10:30 AM Friday morning. Forecast low Friday morning at JSC is 29. A slightly shorter period of freezing temperature is expected Friday night into Saturday morning with a low near 30.
