A Lightning Alert has been issued for the Johnson Space Center area until 12:30 p.m. CDT.  Lightning is occurring or imminent within 6 miles of JSC.

At 11:29 a.m. in-cloud lightning was detected 5.5 miles south of JSC.  These small storms are moving very slowly to the north.  Cloud-to-ground lightning within 6 miles is imminent.

IMPORTANT LIGHTNING SAFETY REMINDERS:

    –The safest place is indoors, or in an enclosed vehicle.

    –Wait 30 minutes from the last thunder before going outside.
