From the Spaceflight Meteorology Group:

At 10AM CDT, Tropical Storm Beta was located at 26.6N 92.6X W or about 255 miles southeast of JSC.  Beta was moving northwest at 3 MPH.  Maximum sustained winds were 60 MPH.

TS Beta is forecast to make landfall or near landfall before turning northeast Monday night or Tuesday morning on the central Texas coast.  Beta is forecast to slowly strengthen possibly to minimal hurricane strength by Monday morning. Tropical storm force winds (40+ mph) could begin at JSC as soon as Monday morning.  The primary hazard for now appears to be a heavy rainfall and flash flooding possibility due to the slow storm motion.
