An extended period of well below average temperatures is forecast for JSC over the next five to seven days. JSC is likely to set several daily records for minimum temperature and coldest maximum temperature Saturday through Tuesday. The temperature should drop below freezing for Monday morning and again Monday night into Tuesday. There is also a very good chance for freezing rain, sleet, or snow early to mid-morning on Monday at JSC. Moderate winds and low wind chills could prolong freezing precipitation throughout Monday.

Be careful while driving as roads may be slick. There may be some icy patches, especially on overpasses and bridges. Drive with care. Travel Sunday through Tuesday is expected to be hazardous.

At this time JSC plans to remain open. Please monitor JSCSOS for any changes. If weather conditions are unsafe to travel onsite, please contact your supervisor.

Contractors should talk to their supervisors for their company’s policy.

Take precautions for exposed or vulnerable pipes, plants and pets.
